Portmeirion was built from 1925 to 1976 by visionary Welsh architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, who wanted to prove that development need not mean defilement. All the cottages in the village are let as rooms and suites as part of the Hotel Portmeirion or as self-catering cottages sleeping up to 8 people. The village has several cafes and eight different shops.
Many know Portmeirion as the location for Patrick McGoohan's classic "The Prisoner" television series. It is also known for the Portmeirion Pottery, designed by Clough's daughter Susan Williams-Ellis. A new contemporary styled brasserie opened at Castell Deudraeth in 2001.
Portmeirion is signposted from the A487 at Minffordd midway between Penrhyndeudraeth and Porthmadog.

BeWILDerwood is an award winning wild and imaginative outdoor adventure park. With magical treehouses and hints of intriguing characters, BeWILDerwood brings a curious difference to the Norfolk Broads.
BeWILDerwood is home to enchanting creatures such as Boggles, Twiggles, the Thornyclod Spider and vegetarian Crocklebogs! The setting for the book, “A Boggle at BeWILDerwood”, by local children’s author Tom Blofeld, gives children the chance to follow in the footsteps of the lead character Swampy, a 2ft Marsh Boggle with a taste for adventure. High in the trees there are miniature Twiggle villages and low in the marshes Boggle village life will captivate your imagination.
Attractions include the Broken Bridge where you have to walk over invisible glass 7 metres above the ground, the Wobbly Wires, a daring zip wire slide and the Slippery Slopes, not for the faint hearted.
No matter how young (or old!) you are, if you’re brave enough you can clamber, crawl, climb, slide and swing your way around our mystical world, creating your own adventure. Parents are encouraged to play alongside their children, which makes for a fabulous and brilliantly exciting time for the whole family.

Trampolining is a hugely popular activity, and there’s a reason for that. Trampolining is a brilliant way to get your heart pounding and your eyes gleaming. Whether you’re a toddler, a teen, or a teen-at-heart, having a bounce can help you get fit in a way that’s fun and feels great.
Our indoor trampoline parks in Birmingham and High Wycombe boast the very best in bouncing equipment, from assault courses to high performance arenas, from large trampolining areas to dodgeball courts. Rush also offers our infamous Rush Wipeout and Gladiator Battle Beam – you might say adrenaline (and adventure) is in our blood! For our jumpers aged 4 and under we have designated Toddler sessions where they can get the run of the park without the interruption of older children.
You can soar to the ceiling knowing that we have your safety covered. Although trampolining is an extreme sport, our specially made equipment and well-trained staff help you feel the rush without having to worry for yourself or those around you.
For parents that need to work while the little ones play, we have a top notch cafe with excellent coffee and fresh, healthy food for eat in or takeaway.
If you’re looking for a stress-free venue for a kids party, after-school fun for all ages, or an unusual corporate team-building event, we have something for you. We offer a range of adult fitness classes and children’s activities at both of our parks, perfect for any level of confidence. We like to say ‘we have something for everyone!’.

The gardens are ‘Capability’ Brown’s most successful pastoral landscapes and remain substantially as they were when first created. Later features include a restored Parterre garden, a rose garden and fountains, and the restored 19th century walled kitchen garden now in use as a working organic kitchen garden. Attractions thoroughout the year include open-air concerts, craft and garden shows and landscaped garden walks.

Their mission: to crack the Nazi Enigma cypher. The odds against them were a staggering 150,000,000,000,000,000,000 to 1. Their success in breaking this seemingly 'unbreakable' code was one of the greatest intellectual achievements of the twentieth century.
By March 1946 they were all gone, removing every scrap of evidence of their codebreaking exploits as they left. Their efforts in breaking those 'unbreakable' codes in the utmost secrecy caused Winston Churchill to coin the phrase "the geese that laid the golden eggs and never cackled". It would be decades before Bletchley Park would start to reveal its secrets.
By 1991, the Park was deserted, its buildings facing demolition. The Bletchley Park Trust was formed with the aim of preserving the site for posterity. So began a long and arduous campaign. The Trust fought off hostile bids from property speculators and waded through a mountain of Government red tape to clinch a deal that saved Bletchley Park for the nation.

The oldest part of this lovely timber-framed house was built in the fifteenth century. Later it was given to Henry VIII’s fourth wife, Anne of Cleves, in her divorce settlement.
Parts are in period furnishings. Galleries tell the story of Lewes from fifteenth century to modern times, the role of local resident Tom Paine, the Lewes Bonfire traditions and the important Wealden iron industry. There are also displays of everyday domestic objects and children’s toys.
The enclosed garden gives a feeling of stepping back into an earlier age and will be the venue for a delightful Tudor Fair in October.

Lyme Regis Museum stands in the heart of the town, just where the beautiful coastlines of Dorset and Devon meet on the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. Built on the site of the home of Lyme’s renowned fossilist Mary Anning, the museum is one of the architectural gems of the town and is packed with fascinating displays. Find out about Lyme’s early and maritime history, its internationally important geology, its fossils and the many significant writers connected with the town, from Jane Austen to John Fowles.
Why not visit and see the Lyme Bay Ichthyosaur, the huge fossilised skull of a predator that swam the Dorset seas in the age of the dinosaur? The museum also runs its famous fossil walks where you can walk in the footprints of Mary Anning and discover your own fossil treasures from 200 million years ago.

Everything you love to do ...
Bring your family down to the farm at Tatton Park this summer for the fabulous Little Baa event.
Kim Lewis is an author and illustrator of charming children’s books all about rural life and we have some original artwork and transcripts from her books, including Floss, Emma's Lamb, Just Like Floss and Shepherd's Boy. Children will love following the Little Baa trail round the farm, dressing up as a shepherd, and looking for Floss's mischievous puppies hiding in the maize maze.
Kim visits the farm on 2nd August to sign copies of her books. Other farm activities include regular talks on our livestock and the opportunity to meet our newly hatched out chicks and ducklings. Additionally, the farm is hosting the Fun Dog Show on 10th August and the English Country Weekend on the August bank holiday weekend.
Also at Tatton, children will have great fun in the gardens with the maze and trail to follow, there is also a family trail in the mansion and of course the adventure playground to let off any excess energy. Pick up a Nature Trail leaflet while you are here and enjoy an ice-cream from the Tuck Shop while you explore. There are also car shows, outdoor theatre and Viking Sunday to entertain families this summer: check out the website for full details.

On a tour of London\'s BBC Television Centre, you will see behind the scenes of the most famous Television Centre in the world. You may experience areas such as the News Centre, Weather Centre, dressing rooms and studios, but due to the operational nature of the building, guarantees cannot be made. However this does mean we can plan your exact itinerary around what is happening on the day so no two tours are ever the same.
Please note that visitors must be 10 years and over and tours must be pre-booked. Television Centre is a large complex and tours involve a lot of walking.
