About Burghley
Burghley House is the grandest house of the first Elizabethan age. It was completed by William Cecil, Lord Burghley in 1587. Today you can see eighteen State Rooms filled with wonderful paintings, furniture and fine art. During the week there are guided tours and at weekends there are guides in most rooms.
The extensive grounds include the Sculpture Garden, the South Garden and the Deer Park. The house is also the setting for the Burghley Horse Trials.
