About Jane Austen's House
Visit Jane Austen's House, situated in the village of Chawton in Hampshire, where she wrote and revised her famous novels including Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma and Persuasion.
The pretty garden contains many varieties of plants and herbs common in the late 18th century. In the Old Bakehouse you will be able to see Jane's donkey carriage that she used when she was ill and too weak to travel far on foot.
