Cook Stars offer a range of fun, relaxed and friendly cookery and craft classes. We encourage a love of good food and teach children and teens how to prepare delicious meals from scratch.

By its very nature cooking is great fun for children! Our classes keep kids engaged and interested throughout with both cookery and arts/crafts at each class. We provide all ingredients, cooking equipment, an apron, a craft activity, packaging and cooking know-how. Everyone takes home their lovely dish along with a recipe card to cook again at home.

Every class offers plenty of hands-on experience of preparing different dishes each week, exploring a variety of ingredients, trying out delicious new foods and having lots of messy fun in the process!

Cook Stars Minis (age 2-5)
Our mini’s are encouraged to get stuck in and try out weighing, measuring, kneading, whisking and stirring and cook a huge variety of yummy dishes.

Cook Stars Juniors (5-11)
Every week we make something different with inspiration taken from dishes around the world using a selection of gorgeous sweet and savoury ingredients. Classes are centred around fun and enjoyment, but our children also learn important practical life skills and healthy eating messages along the way.

Cook Stars Academy (age 11-17)
We teach a huge array of amazing main courses and delicious puddings using a variety of techniques to build confidence in the kitchen week on week. Every week we cook something different with a mixture of main courses and puddings.

Dyslexia Action is an educational charity, founded in 1972, for the assessment and teaching of people with dyslexia and training for specialist teachers.

Dyslexia Action provides a national network of 27 main centres and some 150 linked learning centers, offering individual assessments by Chartered Psychologists and qualified Teacher Assessors and screening for schools, colleges and other organisations. Tuition is provided in literacy, mathematics and study skills using our own highly successful teaching methods and materials. Dyslexia Action carries out over 7,000 assessments each year and currently provides specialist tuition for over 3,000 children in its Centres, outposts and school units. At NLP4Kids we help children and their families overcome a vast range of problems. Typically these fall into the mild mental health and wellbeing areas such as anxiety, confidence issues, habits and phobias though we can help with more serious problems such as self harming, eating disorders and learning difficulties too.

Our practitioners are all DBS checked, insured and have undertaken first aid and safeguarding training. They work in schools and in the community delivering sessions one to one with young people and in workshops too. In addition, our practitioners attend retraining and have access to ongoing professional development.

Whilst we are not counsellors or psychotherapists, our work can be similar to these methodologies. NLP (neuro linguistic programming) has some similarity to CBT too, but tends to work on a more emotional (rather than just cognitive) level.
