BULLYING – THE AGE-OLD PROBLEM
Bullying – or harassment - is a bigger problem than most people realise. It can ruin a child’s life from the admission class to the 6th form, both currently and in the future. The bullet points below will help parents to identify when there is a problem, or when there is about to be a problem.

Signs to look for

  • Fear of going to school - making excuses to delay leaving home
  • Lack of appetite
  • Lack of concentration and withdrawal
  • Not wanting to talk about school
  • A poor attendance record through sickness
  • Nightmares
  • Sudden and progressive lack of confidence
  • Bed wetting and irrational fears

Obviously not all these symptoms will manifest, and can anyway be caused by something else worrying the child. The important thing is to deal with the situation to ensure there are no lasting problems in social skills and the ability to form long-term relationships.

The Hartlands Centre specialises in helping those involved in these issues to deal with them in a highly positive and successful way: We give talks throughout the country and provide both private consultations and relevant leaflets.

Finally, please remember that bullying is not just a childhood problem: many people have come to Hartlands in great distress caused by bullying in both the office and family environment. Our techniques show how to prevent it and deal with it compassionately at whatever stage in our lives it occurs.

Please contact us if you would like:
