No Ghosts, Just Giggles this October Half-Term!

The Strings Club’s award-winning Holiday Camps return this October half-term, giving parents peace of mind while children aged 4-11 enjoy magical days filled with music, creativity and fun.

Rated Platinum on Feefo with an outstanding 4.8 score, our camps have kept families coming back since 2012! Just as spooky season invites us to dress up and try something new, our camps help children grow in confidence, make new friends and shine on and off stage.

Each morning at camp children enjoy engaging sessions in guitar, violin or ukulele, with FREE instrument hire when booking more than a day. Afternoons are filled with exciting workshops designed by a qualified primary teacher currently studying for a PhD in Education. From sport and drama to dance, art and wellbeing, every session builds creativity and confidence – with no screens in sight.

October camp workshop highlights include: KPop Demon Hunter music and craft workshops, a super-fun Monster Mash dance session, an obstacle course full of spooky twists and turns, creating shadow puppets with personality and adding live soundtracks, Diwali-inspired art and music, crafting colourful flags inspired by international autumn festivals (then creating bold, brassy fanfares to march with them) and much more!

At the end of the week families are invited to our Grand Concert finale. The perfect chance for children to proudly share all they’ve learned with their new friends!

Extra-Curricular Classes

“Such a popular extracurricular activity, extremely well organised; they are run by dedicated, enthusiastic staff who are educating our children in cookery skills and widening their horizons! First Class!” Rob Harmer, Headteacher at St Marys School, Henley-on-Thames

Open Classes – Weekends and Holidays

The Best Club ever!!!! That’s how my daughter describes Smart Raspberry Cookery School. The Saturday morning and holiday clubs have taught my daughter how to cook a vast array of sweet and savoury dishes, which has increased her confidence and taught her to be responsible around the kitchen. The recipes are easy to follow and so good I have actually continued to use them myself, definitely recommended!!” Rachel Foreman, Parent

Workshops in Schools

“We recently worked with Smart Raspberry for our discovery week. Our theme was Mind, Body and Soul. We were given amazing options for our cooking class and they were able to work with our date and time constraints. In the end, we chose smoothies and a noodle salad. All of the students choose the cooking class as a highlight of their week. The food was delicious and many students reported later that they had made them on their own at home. Overall a great success. The end result included happy and full students! Highly recommend!” Mercedes Savage, ACS Hillingdon International School

Parties

“My daughter had the Smart Raspberry cupcake party for her 8th birthday. It was fantastic and all the girls loved it – the cake making, the icing (with an animal theme) and eating the final product! One of her friends needed an egg-free version and her Mum said they were the best egg-free cakes she had ever tasted! I would thoroughly recommend Smart Raspberry for an exciting and hassle-free party” Karen, Parent

Hi there! My name is Emma Shannon and I have loved art from a very young age. I qualified as a primary teacher in 2006 and soon discovered that, due to timetable restraints, there was not enough time dedicated to the arts at school. I was often seeing children with low confidence being taken out of a rare art lesson to do more maths and English.

I believe that we should value art as a subject more as being creative makes us feel good, increases our self confidence and helps us think in different ways.

As an artist and a teacher, it was the logical choice to bring my two passions together to create Go Sketch Club!

I believe in teaching children that there is no such thing as 'good art' and 'bad art', only art we like and don't like. Everyone likes different art! We celebrate 'mistakes' as 'opportunities' within the creative process.

Go Sketch Club aims to develop young artists into self confident, imaginative and creative thinking adults of tomorrow. What can we offer?

Arty Parties
If your child loves to draw, paint and create, we have a wide variety of fun art-based birthday parties to suit your artistic child! We even do adult parties if you feel like a unique and calm creative gathering. We can even tailor-make a fun and unique art birthday party for you and your child! All you need to do is have an idea for the theme, supply a work space and away we go! We can travel to a venue you have hired out or we can come to your home.

For example we can do a workshop on cartooning, comic strips, kawaii cartoons, manga/anime faces, zendoodle animals, watercolour painting (any topic), painting masterpiece with a canvas each, clay sculpture and we can even tailor make a party to fit your theme. We are based in Taunton so but love to travel so do get in touch.
