A day at The National Stud offers the chance to see behind the scenes of one of the most prestigious stud farms in the country.

What you can see on your visit depends on the season, but the tour takes in the superb stallion unit, along with the stallions in residence, nursery yards and mares and foals in their paddocks. Each tour lasts for approximately 75 minutes - visitors are advised to arrive 10 minutes before the tour is due to start.

Tours of the Stud take place daily from the 1st March to the end of September and on race days in October and November. Both individual and organised parties can be arranged. Facilities include a Gift and Coffee Shop.

The National Cycle Network is 5000 miles of safe, signed, attractive cycle routes, open and mapped in June 2000. It is made up of traffic-free sections and traffic-calmed road and minor roads, running right through urban centres and reaching all parts of the UK.

Sustrans is the charity co-ordinating the project and will continue to work with local authorities to expand the Network to a target of 10,000 miles by 2005.

The Suffolk Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Barns in Suffolk provides a delightful place to visit to watch, study or simply enjoy the company of Owls and other birds of prey.

There are over 60 raptors at the Centre, all housed in spacious aviaries and flying free in narrated flying displays or demonstrations. You will also find at the Raptor Trust Hospital, an information centre about Owls, picnic areas and plenty of activities for children, plus the famous Owl Barn Gift Shop at Stonham.

The Sanctuary opens daily from 10.30am to late afternoon, 7 days a week. Flying demonstrations and talks take place up throughout the day from March to October.
