Morwellham Quay

Established in 1970, this preserved village and historic port, in a beautiful riverside setting, depicts the life and work of a busy C19th industrial community. Costumed staff give talks and demonstrations in restored cottages, workshops and on the quayside. Visitors can try on Victorian costumes and children can make (and take away!) a length of rope or experience child labour on the Ore Dressing Floor. The wooden ketch 'Garlandstone' and the riverside tramway into a real copper mine are highlights.

Exmoor Zoological Park

Exmoor Zoo is a unique and unusual zoo to visit! Opened in 1982 the zoo is now an ideal family venue. So much change has taken place, that even a visit last year, will today see new exhibits and animals.

The zoo specialises in smaller animals, providing living spaces for many creatures no longer seen in the city zoos. The careful planting of shrubs and trees as they have matured, keep the visitor wondering what is next and provide a relaxing and natural atmosphere within the park.
