Dance classes for Girls and Boys in Southampton

Pupils are entered for:
ISTD Grade and Major Examinations. RAD Major Examinations.

There are special pre-school classes for 3 & 4yr olds.

Opportunities are given for pupils to dance in school shows and professional pantomime.

DM Dance Centre offers a wide range of children's dance classes in Southampton for you to have a go at. All our classes are ongoing and are for beginners, intermediates and advanced dancers, so there is something for everyone and every age.

If your child is aged between 3 and 8 then they will love our Ready Steady Dance Class on a Saturday morning between 9.30-10.15am. We do a bit of everything including, ballroom and latin, cheerleading and freestyle and the children work towards rosettes that they take every three months. They are then awarded a certificate and a sash for them to collect their rosettes on. All our classes are on a pay as you go scheme so you don’t have to sign up in advance.

Our Saturday programme for children over 8 is a great way to learn a wide range of different dance styles. From 10.15 - 3.00pm we offer several different classes, (see timetable for more information), including Salsa, Ballroom, Latin, Freestyle, Musical Theatre and Street/Hip Hop. You can do as many or as little as you like so you can come to one class or all of them! And the more you come to the less you pay for each session. In these classes we also work towards medal tests every three months, when the child is awarded a medal and certificate. All our classes are on a pay as you go scheme so you don’t have to sign up in advance. We also run children's dance workshops during the holidays and a Children's dance summer school.

We offer children's classes in R.A.D Ballet, I.S.T.D Modern and Tap. Special nursery classes in ballet for 3 years + on Thursday and Saturdays.

We hold yearly choreography competitions and on alternate years we produce a school show. Examinations, Competition and festival work are available at the discretion of the principal.
