Children's arts & crafts Share

Our kids are more sophisticated than were before! It’s not easy to find fun and exciting party or event activities they love doing! Are you looking for more unusual fun, exiting and different kinds of arts and entertainment activities for your kid’s party? If you are, you have come to the right place! Nugent Education specialise in providing party and entertainment activities children (from the ages of just 4 – 18 years) really enjoy.

They offer kids party activities in Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, London, and Derby and across England and North Wales. Artists travel to your home, centre or venue to deliver these fun and popular party or event activities.

Their artists can make your party go fantastically well with activities that children enjoy for an hour or two. This will remove the stress off you in terms of engaging the children for an hour or two!

For small children we offer activities like crafts puppet making, face painting, mask making, lantern making and dance. We also offer mascots you can take pictures with such as iggle piggle from in the night garden and the minions. Children’s faces beam with excitement as they see these popular characters walk in. Other children’s activities include Japanese origami and African drumming (great fun).

For older children and teenagers urban arts are very popular. This can include DJ skills, graffiti art, break dancing, rapping or MC-ing and human beat boxing and street dance. Nugent Education can also provide makeup and beauty and free running.

Nugent Education can offer graffiti art activities like graffiti art on a baseball cap. As well as this, we can provide graffiti or painted murals for children’s bedrooms or play areas or spray something the child gets to keep whilst at the party or event. Kids love it. This is really popular as they get to keep a cap or be left with a permanent reminder of the day with a mural.

Their DBS checked artists and entertainers will travel to your home or venue (booked room etc) to deliver these activities.

These fun activities are great value for money and usually last 1, 1½ or 2hrs. They are competitively priced from only £85.00 plus travel (variable), so why not give Nugent Education a try??

Childcare in London Share

We nurture character because we believe 'soft skills' are as important as academics

We help children fly by giving them the skills they need to grow, develop and thrive in a changing world because we believe that children should be skilled for life as well as being schooled in the classroom. To do this, we offer:

  1. Individual creative childcare to support childrens’ passions.
  2. A one-to-one Leadership Programme designed to develop young leaders with the passion, character and skills to make a positive difference in the world.
  3. We also provide group courses that give children some of the key skills to succeed in the 21st century; leadership, resilience, teamwork and creativity.

We approach everything in a way that’s serious fun.

1. Creative Childcare - An ad hoc and part-time creative childcare service in London for 3-12 year olds, provided by fun, engaging & talented Role Models.

We want to inspire children to create and learn, whilst having fun at the same time. Not only do our Role Models have extensive childcare experience but they are also lucky enough to be super talented in at least one of music, arts & crafts, drama, sport or homework (whilst many also come with other talents such as cooking or languages). What’s more, they all love sharing their passion with children. Our ongoing Role Models can normally commit to a minimum of 3 months, potentially longer depending on your requirements (e.g. after-school care or full time roles in the holidays). Our fees are £16.50ph and £20/month membership (minimum 2 months). Alternatively you can be a non-member and pay £16.50ph and £30/session.

2. Leadership Programme - This tailored programme for 10-14 year olds, designed in partnership with Katy Granville-Chapman, Director of the Wellington College Leadership Institute, will use the latest research to develop young leaders with passion, character and skills who can make a positive difference in the world. The programme is inspired by Harvard Business School’s Leadership Initiative; The University of Pennsylvania’s Positive Psychology Centre; The University of Oxford’s Department of Education and The University of Melbourne’s Positive Education Centre.

The programme is 8 sessions of 90 minutes with one of our exceptional Role Models trained in delivering leadership education and takes place at the family’s home. The programme costs £595.

3. Life Skills Courses - The courses are a fun way of developing a growth mindset and the key ‘soft’ skills required to thrive in social & work environments at school, at home and in life ahead. The programme aim is to encourage children to push themselves outside of their comfort zones, embrace new experiences and persist with areas that are not their strengths.

Our range of five fun and interesting 4-5 day half-term and holiday courses (10am – 3pm daily) for 8-12 year olds in London are in Teamwork, Resilience, Leadership, Creativity and a final module in Mastery. These separate courses can be completed in any order, on their own or as a complete programme. The 5th‘Mastery’ module is designed as our ‘graduation’ course for children who have completed the previous four courses.

Our 2018 courses are finalised as:

Easter Teamwork Course – April 9-13th – Chelsea Academy School, SW10 0AB

Skate boarding for kids Share

We are a London club that specialises in teaching 4-15yrs children skateboarding

With our highly trained instructors in a funky, cultural venue we aim to teach kids the basics of skateboarding, whilst allowing them to make new friends, learn skilful tricks, and maintain an interest in a type of exercise that is fun to do.

We focus on teaching children skate park skateboarding and street skateboarding and work to a wristband system which means children can earn different colour wristbands the more they do.

Skateboarding is particularly good for co-ordination and motor skills and as it crosses the midline of the body (Occupational Therapists recommend this for SEN needs because it strengthens core balance).

We run Weekend Beginner Sessions; Holiday and Afterschool Clubs; Skateboarding Parties and Private Lessons for individuals or groups. See website for dates and times.

Drama club for kids in London Share

Developing performance skills, promoting self-expression & building confidence

Jigsaw was established in 1995 by two actresses with a passion for passing on their love of everything performing arts. The belief in the benefits of performing arts activities for children was the driving force in the creation of Jigsaw and the reason why Jigsaw has continued to grow and become a well established and high quality provider of children’s classes.

Every student can benefit, in some way, from the performing arts. While some join us to build a firm foundation for a professional performance career, others do so to unlock their hidden talents, overcome their shyness or increase their confidence and social skills. However, what all students enjoy is having fun through drama, singing and dance classes, while making lots of new friends.

Children ages 3-6 years attend a 90-minute session divided into three sections of dance, drama and singing. Students aged 7-18 years attend a three-hour session comprising of an hour of drama, an hour of singing and an hour of dance, each with a specialist tutor. To establish an environment that builds confidence, regardless of individual ability, students are divided into appropriate age bands. All students will be challenged to their full potential.

If you’ve not been involved in anything like the performing arts before, we offer a two-week trial to all new students, so come along and see for yourself! Fees for a whole term at Jigsaw are: 3-6 years £150 per term, 7-18 years £280 per term. Sibling discounts apply and you can pay online, over the telephone or via our direct debit scheme.

Jigsaw currently runs classes throughout London and the South east. Visit www.jigsaw-arts.co.uk to find your nearest school, or give us a call on 020 8447 4530. Jigsaw also offers holiday workshops, birthday parties, a Youth Theatre and runs an in-house agency.

Ballet and dance classes for kids in London Share

West London School of Dance was founded in 1986 by Anna du Boisson. We offer classes for boys and girls age 2½-16 years old in ballet, pointe work, tap, jazz, annual performances.

The purpose of the school is to teach different forms of dance and to provide students with the opportunity to perform in professionally staged productions. Bursaries are available. The philosophy of Anna and her teachers is to inspire in their pupils a love of music, movement and freedom of expression through dance. The skills gained through encouragement and discipline in the classroom can be applied to all aspects of their lives beyond the classroom.

The classes are highly professional, all accompanied by pianists and taught by qualified staff. Unlike other ballet schools in London, the school does not follow an exam syllabus to measure progress; instead it offers its students the challenge and thrill of performance.

Classes are held during term time for boys and girls. Sign up now for a FREE taster class.

French & Spanish classes for children Share

Established since 1983. Give your Child a Skill for Life.

What’s on 4 Kids 2017 Awards – Voted Best National Activity for Children aged 5-12 years old - 4th consecutive year - Voted for by Parents & Children

For over 30 years La Jolie Ronde has been a unique centre for learning not just a second language but a platform for introducing children to the everyday realities of the country and the culture they are studying. Our award winning programme, for 0-12 years, contains stories, action poems, chants, songs and games enabling children to learn whilst having fun! Children progress through the programme and there are different starting points so children can start learning French or Spanish whatever their age following a programme tailored to their age group. Topics are based on real life situations suited to the interest, experience and social development of each age group.

WHY LEARN ANOTHER LANGUAGE?

  • ENHANCE LIFE SKILLS - Speaking another language opens the door to new possibilities & opportunities. Travel and lifelong friendships are built with the people you meet along the way if you're able to communicate easily
  • DEVELOP CONFIDENCE & SELF ESTEEM - Learning a second language is incredibly rewarding and can enrich personal life too. We encourage children to use language in real life situations which in turn will enable them to overcome fears and doubts leaving them feeling much more confident
  • BOOST OTHER LEARNING - Research has found that pupils who study foreign languages, tend to score better at standardised tests than their monolingual peers. This has been particularly noticeable in maths, reading, and vocabulary
  • IMPROVE YOUR EMPLOYABILITY - Our globalised world means companies are constantly expanding overseas plus dealing with clients from all over the world. Speaking a second language enables you to communicate with a broader network

WHY CHOOSE US OVER OTHERS?

With La Jolie Ronde we are a brand you can trust. You have the security, reassurance and guarantee of a long and proven experience of teaching French & Spanish to young children. Our Programmes are used as part of the curriculum in hundreds of top prep schools in the UK and are taught across the world including the USA, Indonesia, Australia, South America, Africa, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Canada and Japan

Excellence in Education

Yellowbird Education is dedicated to helping children fulfill their innate potential and achieve lasting success. We offer creative writing, handwriting and exam prep workshops throughout the year for children aged 6 to 12 years. Our courses are developed by experts in the field.

Our creative writing workshops are very popular with many students returning again and again. Our aim is to unlock the box of each child’s creativity and help them find the confidence to think differently, so that writing becomes a life skill rather than just a means of passing exams.

Our handwriting workshops use the hugely successful Magic Link programme. The Magic Link programme changes writing from messy and illegible to neat and flowing. This programme teaches joined-up, cursive writing in 30 simple steps. Writing becomes more enjoyable and self-confidence increases with the Magic Link method.

Our Exam prep workshops prepare children for the 7+, 8+ and 11+ exams and interviews, building skills, confidence and determination. Our workshops are very popular so book early!

London Workshops are held during school holidays at Parsons Green Prep School, 1 Fulham Park Road, Fulham, London SW6 4LJ.
