Dance classes for children in Ipswich

Get dancing with DanceEast this Autumn

Let your little ones fall into dance with DanceEast this Autumn, with a range of classes suitable for tots of all abilities, as well as those dancing with additional needs.

For those younger dancers, join in Jolly Tots or Tots & Co together, or give them free rein to be independent and creative in ballet, hip hop and musical theatre.

Modern dance classes in Ipswich Our Tots classes are hugely sociable, for both parents and for tots. Classes work to enhance children’s coordination and rhythm, and nurture their natural love of movement using themes, music, props, games and their imaginations. The class will not only help to develop physical skills, but also those such as observing, listening for a signal, responding to instructions and sharing with other children using ribbons, hoops, balls and parachutes.

For children who are a little older, DanceEast’s creative classes enhance their enjoyment for dance and encourage their natural ability.

Creative dance is a basic introduction to contemporary style dance for four to seven year olds, with a focus on creating individual movement. Children will develop their own moves and choreography using creative games to inspire their individuality, alongside words and music.

Creative ballet will introduce children to the basics of ballet in a fun and relaxed setting, using movement stories and ballet-based activities to appeal to boys and girls alike. This creative movement class will enhance the development of motor skills as children balance, skip, leap and move to the music.

At the other end of the dancing spectrum, creative hip hop focuses on developing musicality, co-ordination and confidence through street dance, encouraging creativity and confidence within children to develop their own movement. Here movement is key for expression, regardless of ability or experience.

DanceEast Springboard classes for ages 7 – 11 support children with additional needs, using dancing games and exercises to improve co-ordination, social and motor skills whilst having great fun. Springboard enables children to discover dance skills and create their own style, using creative dance to express their narrative, emotional and physical sides. Springboard helps children to adapt to different situations and assist with their social, creative and physical development using props, themes and engaging stimuli.
